Russian military personnel dropped everything and fled.

In the Tver region near Toropets, shells continue to detonate at the 23rd arsenal of the Main Artillery and Missile Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry. Last night, it came under attack from Ukrainian drones.

The details of the high-profile incident were shared by the Russian Telegram channel “VChK-OGPU”, which is believed to be associated with the Russian special services.

There is very little footage from the detonation site, as local residents fear criminal prosecution for disclosing military secrets.

However, NASA satellites have already recorded thermal signatures on the territory of the military base, which indicate large-scale fires and detonations. Local authorities are keeping silent.

According to VChK-OGPU, the locals called the military facility “Kapai”. An urgent evacuation of the Staraya Toropa station is underway, train services that passed through this settlement have been cancelled. Residents report that very strong explosions are still thundering on the territory of the base.

The “mushrooms” rise huge above the ground, the doors in Staraya Toropa are shaking. Some of the soldiers escaped at night, abandoning the cars in which they arrived for duty. “Everything is burning,” the source said.

There is information that more serious weapons than regular artillery ammunition could be stored at the base. Local residents are evacuating on their own, fearing a more powerful explosion.

“The unit is surrounded by a fence, it is secret. It is located between Toropets and Staraya Toropa... Those who were there say that there are missile silos, where the airlocks are, like in a bunker. In May of this year, a drone fell there, the military then said that if they had exploded, everything for 30 kilometers around would have been blown away. They say that there is a “Satana” missile (intercontinental ballistic missile — edit.) on combat duty there,” the source said.

He added that a secret railway line runs through the base, which is not marked on the maps. It was presumably used to supply ammunition, including from North Korea. According to the channel, when the base was attacked, the military fled, abandoning everything, including their vehicles.

In addition, there is a film manufacturing plant near the base. If it is destroyed as a result of a detonation, the surrounding areas could face an environmental disaster.
