The statement was made at the OSCE Permanent Council meeting in Vienna.

The European Union called on all states that have ratified the Rome Statute to fulfill their obligations. In particular, this concerns the arrest of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin based on a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.

Ukrinform reported this citing the EU statement.

The statement was made at the OSCE Permanent Council meeting in Vienna.

The document reads that the EU remains deeply concerned about the fate of all Ukrainian children and other civilians illegally displaced by Russia. "The European Union once again calls on Russia and Belarus to immediately ensure their safe return to Ukraine," the statement reads.

The EU demands that the Russian Federation immediately release all persons illegally deprived of their liberty, "including the three arbitrarily detained OSCE staff members."

"We recall the six arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court, including against President Putin for the war crime of illegally deporting and transferring Ukrainian children. All states parties to the Rome Statute are obliged to comply with arrest warrants issued by the ICC," the statement reads.
