Ukraine Attacks Airbase In Russian Astrakhan Region

The SBU (the Security Service of Ukraine) and GUR (the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence) struck several targets in Russia at night.

On the night of Tuesday, July 9, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence struck with drones a military airfield, an electrical substation and an oil depot of the aggressor country, Russia. Informed sources reported this to NV.

Ukrainian special services attacked:

military airfield "Akhtyubinsk" in the Astrakhan region;

500 kV electrical substation in the Rostov region;

oil depot in Kalachi-on-Don in the Volgograd region.

Russian Telegram channels wrote about the operation of the Pantsir air defence system and a series of strong explosions during a UAV attack on the Akhtyubinsk airbase. This information was subsequently removed.

According to sources, this indicates a successful attack, since Russian authorities usually “clear” the information space when important military targets are hit.
