And calls to reconsider the nuclear doctrine.

The Russian Foreign Ministry is unhappy that Western countries no longer fear nuclear blackmail from Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin and his henchmen.

Deputy Foreign Ministry chief Sergei Ryabkov complained about this in an interview with Kremlin propagandists.

"Let's be frank. First of all, we must be honest with ourselves. The situation has shown that nuclear deterrence in its former classical sense is not fully working," the official complained.

According to him, "the collapse of the concept of strategic deterrence" requires changes to the Russian nuclear doctrine.

"Some time later there will be some kind of concretisation of what approaches there might be on our part to these extremely important and very responsible subjects in situations of further escalation," Ryabkov said.
