The head of the Kremlin said this at the SCO summit.

The creating of a single parliament of Belarus and Russia is a matter of time. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a press conference on the margins of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, reports TASS.

According to Putin, Aliaksandr Lukashenka believes that for the time being it's necessary to solve not political, but economic issues in the "union state".

"Although we are doing well in the political sphere too. And inter-parliamentary structures are working. Well, whether it is worth moving, as it was initially stated, to creating a single parliament - well, it is a matter of time. I agree with Lukashenka, we need to strengthen our relations in the economic sphere," said Vladimir Putin.

He added that it's necessary to create an economic base for "further rapprochement of the two countries on the political track".

"The same goes for finance and the single currency. Nobody is saying that it is impossible, cannot or should not be done. But we need to mature economically for this," Putin stressed.
