Powerful Fire Engulfs Russian Defense Industry Enterprise in Moscow Region

On June 24, a serious fire broke out in the Platan research institute, located in Fryazino, Moscow region. A fire broke out in the institute building, where electronic components for the Russian defense industry are manufactured.

A column of thick black smoke is rising from the institute building. As a result of the incident, the research institute employees were cut off from evacuation routes on the upper floors. Reports of the incident appeared in Russian Telegram channels.

It is noted that a plant producing electronic components and communications equipment operates on the territory of the institute. Emergency services are currently working at the site of the fire, but information about its causes and the total area of the fire has not yet been reported.

It is also known that seven people were trapped on the seventh floor of the building. Emergency Situations Ministry rescuers are attempting to reach them to evacuate them, while the trapped people are signaling their situation, waving their hands and asking for help from the windows.
