The Metropolitan convicted in Ukraine ended up in Belarus after his release. On June 23, Jonathan (Anatoly Yeletskikh) attended a service in Minsk at the Holy Spirit Cathedral together with Metropolitan Veniamin, Russian propagandists noted.

Metropolitan Jonathan of Tulchin and Bratslav from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) was convicted in Vinnytsia, Ukraine in August 2023 for justifying Russian aggression, and sentenced to five years in prison.

According to investigators, he distributed pro-Russian leaflets among believers and posted an article on the diocese's website in which he declared the supremacy of the Moscow Patriarchate. On June 22, 2024, the Russian Orthodox Church announced that he was released “at the request of Patriarch Kirill.”
