The "mousetrap" is closing.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces have advanced northeast of Kharkiv and liberated the village of Tikhe east of Vovchansk. They also continue to block the occupants at the Aggregate Plant in Vovchansk. This was stated by analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in their report.

Russian military bloggers reported the liberation by the Defence Forces of the village of Tikhe, which is located east of Vovchansk, on June 17 and 18.

Geolocation footage published on June 10 and 18 shows Ukrainian forces also recently recaptured areas in southern and central Starytsa (southwest of Vovchansk).

On June 19, Colonel Yuriy Povkh, spokesman for the Kharkiv group of Ukrainian forces, said that Ukrainian forces had blocked dozens of Russian military in an undefined fortified area in Vovchansk.

Also according to Ukrainian sources, the Russian Armed Forces struck Vovchansk with 13 guided planned bombs within one hour, which indicates that Russian forces may be preparing for a limited offensive on Vovchansk in the coming days.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces continued ground attacks near Vovchansk and north of Kharkiv near Liptsy on June 18 and 19.

The Russian military claimed that the Ukrainian Defence Forces slightly reduced the intensity of their counterattacks within and south of Hlyboke (north of Kharkiv), but the overall intensity of fighting in the area remains high. The Russian military claimed that Ukraine was moving reserves in the Kharkiv direction to prepare for further counterattacks.
