Polish investigators got fingerprints and DNA samples of a man who stabbed a Polish military man to death on the border with Belarus at the end of May, RMF FM reports.

According to the publication, Polish experts managed to analyze some traces, including biological ones, of the killer of a 21-year-old Polish soldier, Private of the First Armored Brigade of Poland Mateusz Sitek, who remained on the knife.

It is still 100% unknown who they belong to, but there is a high probability that Polish investigators have fingerprints and DNA samples of this particular person. The conclusion on the data received was transferred to the Prosecutor's Office.

The department refused to provide any details of the examination, but confirmed that it had received an opinion and that further analysis would be appointed.

Recall that the incident occurred on May 28 on the Belarusian-Polish border near Dubice-Cerkiewne in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The killer pushed his hand through the fence and stabbed Sitek with a knife attached to a stick as the private approached the fence to fend off the attack. Mateusz Sitek died at the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw on June 6. The Polish Foreign Ministry demanded that Belarus identify and extradite the suspect in the murder of a Polish soldier.
