The ex-Wagner fighter attacked a bartender and his own girlfriend.

Russian Andrei Medvedev, who served in the PMC Wagner and escaped to Norway in the winter of 2023, was sentenced to 120 days in prison for attacking a bartender and beating his girlfriend. The decision was handed down by the District Court of Westfold on June 14, writes Barents Observer.

According to the court decision, the crimes were committed on November 19, 2023. Then Medvedev was resting in a pub in Stavern, where he had a conflict with the employee of the institution, who refused to sell him two additional portions of alcohol. Then the former Wagner officer took the bartender outside, grabbed him by the shirt and threw coins from a change cup in his face.

That same night, Medvedev beat up his girlfriend, the court records show. She was sent to the hospital and Medvedev was detained by police. Doctors diagnosed the girl with bruises, bites, and small haemorrhages in her eye.

Medvedev himself denied the court's findings, saying that the girl "beat herself up." She also later renounced her testimony, but this contradicts what witnesses saw and heard, writes Barents Observer.

Medvedev illegally crossed the Russian-Norwegian border illegally near the Pasvik Valley in Finnmark in the winter of 2023, and on January 23, 2023, it became known that he was detained. Medvedev asked for political asylum and stated that he was ready to tell about the crimes committed by the Wagner PMC.
