UK Imposes Sanctions Against Moscow Exchange Following US

  • 13.06.2024, 14:40

The sanctions imply freezing of assets and restrictions on trust services.

The UK government has updated the sanctions list, adding Moscow Exchange, National Clearing Centre and National Settlement Depository to it, follows from the document published on the official portal.

The explanations say that all three financial organisations have been and continue to be involved in benefiting and supporting the Russian government by doing business in a sector of strategic importance.

The sanctions imposed by the UK imply freezing of assets and restrictions on trust services.

Also the SPB Exchange (which is already under EU sanctions), Ingosstrakh, the air carrier of Volga-Dnepr, the Tambov gunpowder plant and several dozen other legal entities, including sea carriers, chemical and machine-building companies, as well as companies from China and Kyrgyzstan, have also fallen under the sanctions. In addition, sanctions have been imposed against six ships involved in ‘destabilising Ukraine’ or benefiting and supporting the Russian government.

Restrictions were also imposed against several individuals, including the head of the Moscow Exchange.
