Navalny's Body Stolen: Journalists Get Evidence

A motorcade of the Federal Penitentiary Service was driving along the road from the colony to Salekhard the night before Navalny's mother arrived.

"Mediazona" found out that on the night of February 16-17, a motorcade of the Federal Penitentiary Service was driving along the road from the town of Labytnangi, the nearest town to the colony where Russian oppositionist Aleksey Navalny was kept, towards Salekhard. Journalists assume that this motorcade could be transporting Navalny's body.

The journalists gained access to the CCTV cameras between Labytnangi (the settlement of Kharp, where the colony is located, is about 35 kilometres northwest of this town) and Salekhard. As the journalists explain, in winter these two towns, lying on opposite sides of the Ob River, are connected by an ice crossing, and if you exclude the helicopter, this is the only way out of the colony.

Around midnight on February 16-17, a motorcade consisting of two traffic police cars, one leading and one trailing, a grey sedan with civilian plates and an UAZ "Bukhanka" minibus with two green stripes appeared at the crossing. According to the journalists, these are the vehicles of the Federal Penitentiary Service.

The convoy was travelling much slower than other vehicles at the crossing, the journalists said. After crossing the river, it moved towards Salekhard, but it was impossible to trace its further path.

The website did not see any other similar convoys on the cameras over the previous few days. Journalists assume that this very motorcade was carrying Navalny's body from the colony to Salekhard and that it was deliberately hidden from his relatives.
