This will be an important signal.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will present a plan for victory at the Ramstein meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group. At this summit, which will be held with the participation of US President Joe Biden, new steps in support of Ukraine are expected.

The Washington Post reported.

According to a Western diplomat, NATO member states are considering offering Ukraine more specific steps towards future membership in the Alliance. Although such measures may not satisfy Kyiv's urgent requests, it will be an important signal for Ukraine.

However, Ukrainian officials have expressed concerns that the upcoming US presidential election could put further security assistance in question.

Zelensky and his team are actively trying to convince Biden to support the victory plan, which could be an important part of his political legacy. However, the White House is avoiding decisions that could affect the Democratic election campaign.

With fighting and difficulties on the front lines continuing, Ukrainian public opinion is slowly changing. While Kyiv has no intention of giving up its territory, more and more Ukrainians are willing to make temporary compromises if they provide NATO membership or security guarantees from allies.

Russia has regained the offensive initiative on the front lines, and Ukraine is rushing to replenish its thinned ranks with a mobilization campaign. Ukraine’s surprise cross-border incursion into Russia’s Kursk region over the summer was a boost to domestic morale and a statement to its allies that it can still win on the battlefield.

But that offensive has largely stalled, while Ukraine continues to lose ground in its eastern regions, including the city of Vuhledar, which was captured just this week.
