Elections In Georgia: Vote Count Data From 97% Of Polling Stations Is Known

Exit polls gave the opposite results.

Georgia's ruling party, Georgian Dream, is leading in the parliamentary elections in Georgia, which many consider a decisive factor for the country's long-standing aspirations for EU membership.

This was reported by the website of the Georgian Electoral Commission.

According to the Electoral Commission, after the votes from 97% of polling stations were counted, Georgian Dream received 54.24% of the votes.

The opposition Coalition for Changes — 10.80%, Unity-National Movement — 10.07%. The remaining votes were divided among smaller opposition parties.

Parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on October 26.

Exit polls after the polling stations closed gave opposite results.

The turnout, according to preliminary data, is about 60%.

Opposition parties have declared that they will not recognize the election results. Some are talking about preparing street protests.
