Iran, Iraq Close Their Airspace After Israeli Retaliatory Strike

Four planes took off from Tehran immediately after the strike.

Iran closed its airspace until 9:00 a.m. local time (1:30 a.m. ET) Saturday, while Iraq closed its airspace until 11:00 a.m. local time (4:00 a.m. ET).

According to an official notice from the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, the closure expires at 11:00 a.m. local time on Saturday (4:00 a.m. ET).

The channel noted that around the same time as the strikes on Tehran, according to FlightRadar24, four civilian planes began taking off from the Iranian capital.

Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported that several military bases in western Iran and southwest Tehran were attacked.

The US said it was not involved in Israel's military operation against targets in Iran.

On Saturday, October 26, Israel struck targets in Iran in response to Israel's massive ballistic missile attack in early October. A series of explosions were reported in Tehran and other cities. The IDF officially confirmed the attack, stating that precision strikes were being carried out on Iranian military targets.
