Preparing to transfer offensive weapons to Ukraine.

South Korea on Tuesday, October 22, promised to take "staged measures" against the DPRK and Russia in connection with the deepening of their military cooperation, calling on Pyongyang "to immediately withdraw its troops from Russia." Among the options under consideration is the transfer of offensive weapons to Ukraine, the Yonhap agency writes.

It is indicated that future possible decisions by South Korea were considered at a meeting of the Security Council, which was convened to assess intelligence information about the transfer of about 12 thousand North Korean soldiers to Russia.

The members of the Security Council once again called on the DPRK to immediately withdraw its troops from Russia.

"If illegal military cooperation between North Korea and Russia continues, South Korea will not stand aside, but will respond decisively," Deputy National Security Advisor Kim Tae-hyo emphasized.

Possible scenarios include sending Ukraine weapons for defence and attack, a senior official told reporters.

Ukraine back in June of this year - after Kim Jong-un signed security agreements with Putin. But until now, Seoul has stuck to its position on providing Ukraine with only non-lethal humanitarian weapons.
