AFU 72nd Brigade Refutes Full Seizure Of Vuhledar By Russian Federation

The Russians have not captured the town of Vuhledar in Donetsk region. The occupants are ‘almost in the centre of the town’, in addition, at about 20:00, the DeepState project wrote about the occupation of the town.

This was reported to ‘Suspilne’ sources in the 72nd separate mechanised brigade.

As of the evening of October 1, the situation in Vuhledar, Donetsk region, remains difficult. Although part of the town is under the control of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, most of Vuhledar is controlled by Russian troops.

‘The brigade has not received an order to leave the town,’ the interlocutor said.

The commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 72nd SMBR, Andriy Nazarenko, said that the brigade continues to hold its defence despite active assaults by the Russian Federation, which has deployed at least five well-trained brigades against Vuhledar. He noted that the brigade has been holding its position for more than two years, and over the past six months the situation has worsened due to constant assaults. Russian troops are actively bombing the town with the use of aviationin an attempt to break down the defence of the town.
