Tusk: Ukraine's Victory Plan Will Be Re-Evaluated After US Presidential Elections

Poland's position remains unchanged.

The plan for Ukraine's victory, presented in Brussels by President Volodymyr Zelensky, will be re-evaluated depending on the results of the US presidential elections on November 5, 2024, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said, PAP reports.

The Prime Minister noted at a press conference after the EU summit in Brussels on October 17 that “no one expected harmony” on the topic of Ukraine's victory plan in the EU, since there is no unanimity among EU countries on this issue (and Ukraine's accession to NATO is listed as the first point in the document).

Tusk recalled that when the question of Ukraine's accession to the Alliance first arose (during the presidency of Lech Kaczyński in 2005-2010 — ed.), Poland was in favor of “opening NATO prospects for Ukraine”.

“It (Poland's position — edit.) has not changed. In this regard, we are in solidarity with Ukraine,” the Polish Prime Minister said.

According to Tusk, it is difficult to assess today how realistic the victory plan presented by President Volodymyr Zelensky is, since much will depend on the outcome of the presidential elections in the United States.

“At the moment, we are waiting for the results of the elections in the United States, no one is hiding this,” Tusk concluded.
