The operation had several goals.

US military aircraft attacked a number of targets of the militants of the terrorist group Islamic State (or ISIS) in Syria. The operation was aimed at preventing extremists from carrying out attacks in the region and beyond.

This was reported by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) and the American publication ABC News.

The US military department said that such airstrikes were carried out on Friday, October 11.

At the same time, Centcom did not specify in which parts of Syria the ISIS camps that went under attack were located.

The US Armed Forces also claim that as a result of this operation, the militants' ability to “plan, organize, and carry out attacks” on the US, its allies and partners, as well as “civilians throughout the region and beyond” was disrupted.

The Central Committee added that the assessment of damage caused by the fighting is still ongoing, and there are no casualties among the civilian population.
