Ukrainian Law Enforcers Uncover Human Transporting Schem Through Belarus To Occupied Donetsk

The suspects face 7 to 9 years in prison.

A scheme for illegally transporting people from Ukraine to Russian-occupied Donetsk has been uncovered by law enforcement agencies, the press service of the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office reports.

It is alleged that the criminal group carried out illegal passenger transportation from Kyiv through the territory of Poland, Belarus and Russia.

The group included residents of the Donetsk region, who acted "together with accomplices," the report reads.

"The scheme worked through a closed group in a messenger, where flight announcements were posted. Passengers first went to Poland, from there they went to Belarus, then by plane "Minsk-Moscow" to Russia, and from there by bus to Donetsk. The cost of such a "service" was 350-400 euros," the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office notes.

"The organizer of the scheme and his accomplice, residents of the Donetsk region," are suspected of committing a criminal offence and are under house arrest.

It is reported that the suspects face 7 to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property and a ban on engaging in certain activities for up to three years.

According to the supervisory agency, more than 600 groups involved in illegally transporting people across the border have been uncovered in Ukraine since the Russian invasion.
