Some of the staff have been transferred to Brussels.

Some of the staff of the EU mission in Minsk have been transferred to Brussels. This information was confirmed to the Pozirk publication on October 1 by the official representative of the European External Action Service, Peter Stano.

According to him, this measure is due to the current situation in Belarus and the level of bilateral relations between Minsk and the European Union.

At the same time, Peter Stano noted, the recalled staff will continue in Brussels “their important work related to Belarus”.

Stano said that the European Union “adapts its diplomatic presence in third countries in accordance with the need and external circumstances”, but “issues related to the organization of the work of the EU Delegation are an internal matter for the European External Action Service and, as a rule, are not discussed publicly”.

“The EU policy towards Belarus remains unchanged. In particular, the European Union stays committed to supporting the people of Belarus,” the representative of the European External Action Service emphasized.
