IL-76 Military Aircraft Crashes In Russia's Belgorod Region

An IL-76 military aircraft has crashed in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported the incident in the Korochansky district.

"Now an investigation team and EMERCOM officials are working at the site. I changed my schedule and went to the district," he said.

A missile alert was announced in the region shortly before the IL-76 crashed.

The Pepel telegram channel notes that the Il-76 aircraft is designed to transport equipment and cargo weighing up to 60 tonnes to a distance of up to 4,200 kilometres.

Russian media report that 63 people were on board the Il-76. According to preliminary data, all of them died.
