They are suspected of illegal handling of weapons.

Blogger Mik Badalyan and Sputnik Armenia journalist Ashot Gevorkyan were detained in Armenia.

This was announced by the speaker of the Investigative Committee of Armenia Gor Abrahamyan, writes Radio Liberty.

Pro-Russian propagandists Mik Badalyan and Ashot Gevorkyan are suspected of illegally handling weapons.

The journalist and blogger were detained on September 6-7 in the Syunik region. A total of seven people were detained in this case.

The Russian Embassy in Armenia has already responded to the situation and stated that it plans to clarify the circumstances of the incident and is monitoring the development of the situation.

The state-run Russian media group Rossiya Segodnya, which includes Sputnik Armenia, said it was monitoring Gevorkyan's detention.

“Possible provocations aimed at undermining the friendship between the fraternal peoples of Russia and Armenia must be stopped immediately,” the propagandists said in a statement.

On September 7, Head of the European Party of Armenia Tigran Khzmalyan noted that for the first time in 200 years, Armenia is changing its political course — the country is ending its relations with the Russian empire.
