Ukrainian Armed Forces Liquidate Air Regiment Command With Drone Strike On Kursk Airfield

A drone exploded at the Khalino airfield in Kursk, Russia. As a result, there are dead and wounded among the leadership of the enemy aviation regiment.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to sources in the Defence Intelligence.
As it became known, the Khalino airfield, located 7 kilometers from the center of Kursk, came under attack from a drone. It got its name because of the village of the same name located nearby.
It should be noted that the 14th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment is based at the airfield. Zhdanov, who is armed with Russian Su-30SM aircraft.
First, Russian Telegram channels related to aviation began writing “alarming” news from the airfield in Kursk. At the same time, Russian authorities traditionally remain silent about what happened.
However, as military intelligence sources told RBC-Ukraine, a powerful explosion occurred on the runway.
Thus, the Russians intercepted a “Ukrainian UAV” by electronic warfare forces near the airfield, and then the drone allegedly “landed safely” on the runway. After this, the leadership of the air regiment and FSB officers came to inspect the “bird” and take photographs.
“When the delegation tried to inspect the “captured” UAV, the ammunition detonated,” the source said.
As a result, it took a long time to transport the dead and wounded from the scene.
In particular, according to sources, the following persons were killed or wounded in the explosion:
▪ commander of the 14th air regiment;
▪ one of his deputies;
▪ a group of aviator officers;
▪ representative of the FSB military counterintelligence;
▪ airfield workers.
Attacks on Kursk
This morning, there were complaints about a drone attack in Kursk, Russia. As sources subsequently told RBC-Ukraine, as a result of the new “bavovna” there was a hit in the local building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In addition, the source emphasized that attacks on Kursk continue.
In particular, yesterday it was also restless there. Thus, a Ukrainian drone not only attacked the Russian FSB building in Kursk on City Day — an oil refinery near the local airfield came under attack.
