Svitan: Assault On Crimea Will Begin This Year

Russian troops have three ways to leave the peninsula.

Reserve Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan outlined scenarios for the liberation of Crimea for Glavred:

“Yes, we will storm Crimea this year, since it is possible to do this by entering the peninsula through Armiansk, and with airborne and marine landings.

They will run away after we break four bridges (the corridor to Crimea).

The first of them is the Crimean (or Kerch) Bridge, which we have already damaged twice. I think it will be out of action for a very long time and will cease to exist as a military supply chain after the third strike.

The second is the land corridor to Crimea, which we are cutting now, trying to reach the Azov coast. Or at least we need to approach the main lines, cross the railway and take control of the highway that runs along the Azov coast.

The third bridge is an air bridge. We will have to destroy the Russian Il-76 aircraft. We have already begun to destroy them, and in the near future, the hunt for the air bridge will continue, since transport aircraft can provide some transfer of enemy forces and assets to Crimea and back.

The fourth bridge is maritime traffic. To do this, it is necessary to destroy the majority of the vessels of the Black Sea Fleet, most importantly the major landing crafts, which are used as ferries. These are the ones we have been striking at lately both at sea and in docks. Also, it’s necessary to sink most of the vessels of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

After we break these four bridges, not a single military group will be able to hold out for long in Crimea, since there are only one and a half to two weeks of army reserves there. And the garrison reserves will give them maybe one and a half to two months maximum. After, only little green men will stay there with small arms but without ammunition, those who captured Crimea ten years ago.
