Health And Life Of Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk At Risk

One creates unbearable conditions for a political prisoner.

Political prisoner, activist of European Belarus civic campaign Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was again placed in an isolation ward (punishment cell).

Palina's husband Andrei Sharenda wrote it on Facebook.

"Palina has been in the isolation ward (punishment cell) since January 13. As of February 21, there is no information that Palina is out of there. It is possible that the punishment was extended. This would mean at least 40 days of continuous torture through cold, hunger, and lack of sleep.

Women who were previously held in the correctional facility No. 24 say it is impossible to stay in the local isolation ward for more than ten days in winter. The ward is covered with frost when temperatures are low. The cold and the lack of normal food turn every minute there into unbearable agony," Sharenda wrote.

As Charter97.org wrote earlier, Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk is held in the women's correctional facility No. 24 (Zarechche). Last year, Judge Mikalai Krupadzerau added another year of imprisonment to her basic sentence.

Palina has been in captivity for more than two years. Judge Jauhen Brehan sentenced her to two years in prison on three articles of the Criminal Code.

Palina has two minor sons, who are now being raised by their father abroad.
