Russia Attacks Odesa With 'Shaheds': Multi-Storey Apartment Building Catches Fire

The debris of the downed drone hit a residential building.

On the evening of December 28, Russia attacked Odesa with strike drones. Air defence systems worked on the enemy targets, but the wreckage of the Shahed-136 hit a residential apartment block, resulting in a massive fire.

This was reported by local Telegram channels. The air alert continues in the region.

Head of the RMA Oleg Kiper said that the fire broke out when debris from a downed drone hit the house, specialists are working at the site.

"Data on the injured are being clarified. The attack is still going on! The residents of Odesa and region, I ask you very much: stay in shelters, do not disregard safety!" emphasised the official.

As reported by the South Defence Forces on Telegram, "as a result of falling debris of the downed kamikaze drone, which was directed by the enemy through Odesa residential quarters, a fire broke out in a high-rise building."

Also, a Shahed shot down in the air fell on summer houses in the suburbs of Odesa. A fire broke out there, which caused damage to a number of premises. The fire was liquidated.

Later, Odesa mayor Gennady Trukhanov showed the consequences of the Russian attack on the city. According to him, a fire broke out in one of the multi-storey buildings, but it was quickly eliminated.

In the morning, an operational headquarters to which residents applied for assistance for damaged housing started working in Odesa.
