The Lukashists never cease to amaze with absurd verdicts.

According to the court ruling, a Slonim teacher was given a fine of 10 base fees (370 rubles) with the confiscation of her personal computer for having the book “A Short Course in the History of Belarus in the 9th-21st Centuries” by Anatol Taras, Viasna writes.

At the court hearing, the woman said that around 2018 she purchased a short course on the history of Belarus in one of the bookstores for her schoolgirl daughter. In the summer she was cleaning the apartment and, seeing this book in good condition, decided to sell it as unnecessary. The ad was active for two months.

There were no buyers, and therefore she most likely returned the book to the paper meant for recycling. She didn’t even suspect that the book was recognized as “extremist material,” the Slonim resident noted in court.
