Units of the 36th Brigade have made a difficult and very risky maneuver.

The Marines made a breakthrough in besieged Mariupol and joined forces with the Azov regiment. In this way they managed to strengthen the defence area.

RBC Ukraine reports this, citing Facebook of Oleksiy Arestovych, adviser to the head of the President's Office.

"In Mariupol, as a result of a complex and very risky manoeuvre, the units of the 36th Marine Brigade broke through to join the Azov regiment, which professionally secured the event," he said.

According to him, as a result, Azov received substantial reinforcements, the Marine brigade managed to avoid defeat, and the combined defenders of Mariupol seriously strengthened their defence area.

"All in all, the town's defence system has grown and strengthened. That's what happens when officers don't lose their heads but firmly maintain control of the troops. Let us not lose them either. The army knows what it's doing," Arestovych added.
