  • 18.10.2022, 7:42

Deputy regiment commander Vadim Kabanchuk told how the Lukashenka regime will end.

A recruitment and training centre for Belarusian citizens who want to fight on the side of Ukraine has been set up in Poland. Organizers are talking about hundreds of Belarusians who want to join a special Belarusian regiment named after Kastus Kalinouski, a 19th-century revolutionary. The leaders of the training center say that they receive hundreds of applications, according to Euronews.

Pavel Kukhta from the Mobilization Center in Poland says:

“They are asking us about visas, routes and better ways to join the regiment. How to leave Belarus?"

More and more Belarusians who disagree with the Lukashenka regime understand that the war in Ukraine can bring down the regime in Minsk.

Vadzim Kabanchuk is fighting in the Kalinouski Regiment. He says that Belarus and Ukraine have one common enemy.

“This is also our war. The regiment's motto is: "We are liberating Belarus by liberating Ukraine". In fact, we have one enemy: the Putin regime and its puppet, Lukashenka. Of course, we would not like to fight with our compatriots, but if they start entering Ukraine, we will be the first to meet them, and we will ask the Ukrainian leadership about this. We want to do this because we hope that most of them will join us. And this will be the end of the Lukashenka regime. Then we will enter Belarus together, remove this regime, and we will liberate the people of Belarus from the dictatorship in the end.”

Representatives of the Belarusian diaspora in Europe and the opposition have no doubts on whose side the inhabitants of their country are. They do not doubt the significance of this war for the entire region.

Andrei Sannikov from the European Belarus Civil Campaign says:

“Most Belarusians support Ukrainians, they really support their fight for freedom. It is extremely important for us to support the Ukrainians because they are at the head of the struggle, the second wave of the liberation of Europe. It is extremely important for us to support the Ukrainians because they are spearheading the fight, the second wave of the liberation of Europe. Free Europe is a critical requirement if we are talking about ways to help the people of Russia, including free Belarus and Ukraine.”

Poland has long been a haven for many dissident Belarusians, Ukrainians and Russians forced to leave their countries. They are increasingly interacting with each other in order to jointly achieve the goal.
