Doctor Uladzimir Martau, Detained In Russia, Handed Over To Belarusian Law-Enforcers

Belarusian doctor Uladzimir Martau is in the Vitebsk pretrial detention center. This was reported by Viasna Vitsebsk.

“The doctor was extradited to Belarus, now he is under arrest,” human rights activists write.

What he is accused of is unknown.

Uladzimir Martau was detained on May 14 this year in St. Petersburg. It was reported that he was on the interstate wanted list.

Uladzimir Martau is a resuscitation doctor from Vitsebsk. He is one of the first Belarusian doctors who openly spoke about COVID, problems in Belarusian hospitals and the healthcare system.
